Market Summary

Investors approached today’s trade with mixed sentiments despite troubling rates offered at the close of yesterday’s Treasury Bills primary auction.

The All-Share Index (ASI) inched up by 0.10% to close at 34,803 points.

Market capitalization rose to N18.18 trillion (+0.10%), bringing the Year-to-date performance of the market to 29.66%.

Total volume traded plunged to 257.56 million units (-40.78%), valued at N3.53 billion (-48.94%).

The market recorded 21 gainers and exactly 21 losers (Wednesday: 37 against 11).

On the sectoral indices chart, the Oil and Gas index led with +2.77% riding on the announcement that PIB may be passed in March 2021. Pension index trailed with -0.05%.

Mobil, OANDO, Guinness and Cadbury appreciated while Dangote Sugar and UBA lost today.

Zenith, MTNN and GTB dominated the turnover chart in value terms.
